2013 Junior High and High School Summer Camp Programs

HIGH SCHOOL/JR HIGH COMBO SUMMER CAMP (for 6th through 12th graders)

June 11 - June 15, 2013 (Tuesday - Saturday)  4 nights/5 days of bonding with your entire student ministry to kick off your summer activities.
$295 per camper; $70 per Counselor/Youth Director attending with group. Limitted space for independents, sold out for groups. Please consider our second Combo Camp in August (see Combo Week 2 below).

Philosophy - We know it can be a challenge to schedule multiple summer residential camps with different ages of students during the summer so we are so excited to offer this new integrated program that gives age-appropriate small group lessons with epic all camp games and worship! Our program is designed to facilitate growth in your church youth group’s community. Jr. Higher’s and High Schooler’s are at different levels and at different steps in their Journey with Christ. Our program will address this through separate teaching times to really go deeper with age appropriate lessons and challenges but also engage everyone together in amazing community building events. Our prayer is that we truly partner with all of the Church Leaders so that we set you up for success not only at Campus By The Sea but for your ministry year round. Not your typcial “church camp.” We sweat the details so youth pastors can concentrate on the relationship with their students.

Speaker to Jr. Highers:

Peter Beeman
[Elder/Teacher at St. John’s Presbyterian Church- Los Angeles, CA]
Through out my life as I have wandered around this globe as a teacher, pastor, preacher and student, I realize that each person has a place of foundation, a place where they always returned, mine is… Campus By The Sea. I have attended about 50 camps there over my life. I first attended “Catalina Camp” the Summer of 1973 before my freshman year in High School. Years later, after serving as a missionary in India, working with lepers, Mother Theresa, and in the slums of Bombay, I returned to CBS. After being married, finishing seminary and beginning life with a new born baby girl I was called to be a pastor in San Francisco. Each Summer we drove down so that my Junior High students could experience God’s presence at Campus By The Sea. Now, I have the privilege to return once more to experience the love and wisdom which I always received and shared at Campus By The Sea.

Worship:

Joel Mitchell Band
Joel Mitchell is an Orange County based worship leader/singer-songwriter. The songs they write are a response and a journey of meeting with God. There hope is that they encourage and stir your heart, haunting it with the reality of the constant pursuing love of our creator. Hear their albums at www.JoelMitchellMusic.com

Program Direction:

Joel & Shannon Dunn
We are excited to have this dynamic couple leading two weeks of youth camp this summer. Joel is Student Pastor at St. John’s Presbyterian Church, LA and Shannon is the Director of 5th & 6th Grad Programs at Bel Air Presbyterian Church. Aside from their duties with their respective youth ministries, Joel and Shannon have been involved with years of ministry at Forest Home (another fine Christian Camp that’s no where near the ocean). Youth leaders spoke, we listened. Because of the tremendous interest in our first ever, week of Combo Camp in August (see top of page) we have decided to change our traditional week of Jr. High Camp into a second week of Combo Camp. Now churches wrestling with the challenge of one youth pastor, two age groups can bring them all at once, yet not compromise a program directly tailored for the specific stage of development they are experiencing. So bring your Middle School/Jr. High and High Schoolers to this amazing week of sleep-away camp. How to Register
