Campus by the Sea is a Christian Camp on Catalina Island that hosts church and school retreats, youth camps, and family camps from March until November.
We’re looking to hire “Seasonal Employees” for three months (from late February through May) or for nine months (from late February through the second week of November).
Housing and most meals are provided!
We have positions available on our kitchen and Grounds Crew/Waterfront teams. On-the-job training is provided.
Life at Campus by the Sea means living and working in our private cove steps from the ocean as we serve campers so that they can “Come away, meet God, and be renewed. We are looking to hire Christ-centered, selfless, and hardworking individuals with a strong work ethic and the ability to live and work in a close-knit Christian community.
Our Campus by the Sea staff have access to unique outdoor recreation and the opportunity to make lifelong friends in Christian fellowship while deepening their own walk with Christ. Catalina Island and our cove offer world-class snorkeling, diving, and ocean fishing, as well as hiking and other perks of “island life.”
Not only is a season of life at Campus by the Sea transformative and life-changing, but one moment you might find yourself snorkeling with a sea turtle or on a boat chasing pods of dolphins or whales! Every day means a new adventure.

Catalina Island is the dream playground for ocean/outdoor adventure and exploration. We encourage our staff to “Embrace the Island” and to take full advantage of everything Catalina has to offer! Seasonal staff have full access to our recreational equipment, including wetsuits, snorkel gear, kayaks, paddleboards, fishing gear, wakeboards, pickleball, basketball, volleyball, and so much more.
The hiking trails within our cove offer incredible ocean views and are perfect for trail running for those looking for an exciting workout. The island’s rugged interior also happens to be home to wild Bison.
The main harbor city of Avalon, just down the coast, offers a variety of unique local restaurants and businesses, including local Christian fellowship circles!
There are also opportunities to pay to get SCUBA certified in Avalon and to explore Catalina’s world-famous diving.

TEMPORARY WORK
From the end of February until mid November our seasonal employees are a vital part of our ministry, from cooking meals to maintaining camp. During the “off season” (November to February) we work on major projects and improvements. Seasonal employees help us maintain our floats, help with demolition and construction, repair cabins and grounds, trim trees, load and unload barges, and much more.
