Family Camp Program Details

FAMILY CAMP WEEK 1 SPEAKER

For 45 years Scott has been married to Sherrie. They are blessed with two adult sons who are married and they enjoy their 6 grandchildren, ages 12 to 2.

Scott has served the Lord and people as a youth pastor, hospital chaplain, university instructor, church planter and senior pastor. Additionally, Scott coaches church planters and gives spiritual direction to pastors and church leaders.

Scott is a seasoned speaker and teacher, having presented at conventions, camps, retreats, civic and business events.

His passion is helping others identify and take their next step in their personal growth as a Jesus-follower, businessperson, spouse, or parent.

FAMILY CAMP WEEK 2 SPEAKER

David McPherson, along with his wife Melanie, has been involved in church leadership for the past 43 years. David grew up in ‘bayou country’ in deep southern Louisiana, and Melanie spent her growing up years in the hills of north Georgia. They are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, and have three grown children who are all married, living in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Seattle.

David has a Master’s Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas. Melanie’s degree in education allowed her to teach in several elementary schools. Both of them have served as international missionaries in Grenada, India, and Austria; pastoring in student ministry in Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee; senior teaching pastor in Tennessee; and finally, planting and pastoring a church in Santa Fe, New Mexico for 17 years.

David and Melanie recently took early retirement and moved to Oklahoma and are serving at Oklahoma City Community Church.

FAMILY CAMP WEEK 3 SPEAKER

Chris and Katie met in the summer of 1990 while working at a summer camp in northern California. Three days after Chris graduated from Auburn University in 1993 they were married and soon moved to southern California. Over the past 30 years they have served in ministry, which has included teaching, coaching, writing, running family camps, and serving on church staff. They have eight wonderful children, 3 daughter-in-laws, 1 son-in-law, and 5 grandchildren. Their passion is for their family to be used by God to show His glory and grace, and to encourage and equip believers to live, defend, and share their faith.
