Our private cove offers unmatched fun with recreation and activities for the entire family.
Our all-inclusive 6-day, 5-night Family Camp includes the Catalina Express ferry to our private cove, all lodging, ocean-view dining, kids’ program, recreation activities/equipment, and much more!

One-of-a-kind beachfront location, amazing staff mentoring your kids, seaside s’mores, and family-friendly everything! Be intentional with your family this summer by investing in their faith and creating lasting memories at Campus by the Sea’s popular Family Camp.
For over 50 years, Campus by the Sea has delivered a unique Christian vacation experience on Catalina Island, giving families a chance to play together, eat together, and worship together. We offer age-based programs and activities for kids 0-college, as well as adults. Experience a family vacation that transcends memories.
MID WEEK OPEN DAY
Mid-week you will have the opportunity to hike into Catalina’s flagship town of Avalon!
Avalon is a charming Mediterranean-style town with restaurants, shops and a beach town vibe that is unmatched on the west coast.
There is great food, amazing ice cream options and opportunities to parasail, mini golf, or just explore the town and unique aspects of the island.
Families with young kids may find it easier to stay in camp and make use of the complimentary two hours of childcare so that you and your spouse can snorkel, kayak, hike or take a nap without stress or interruption.
MORNINGS
C H O I C E S
You can choose full-throttle ocean tubing, fishing, hiking the ridge, sipping coffee on the beach, or sleeping until the last possible minute. And our delicious breakfasts do not disappoint! After breakfast, our morning program includes:
Family worship time
Age-relevant programs for kids 0-college
Seasoned speakers and small groups for adults
Plus, free time for Mom and Dad to connect with each other and with other adults.
AFTERNOONS
Sit on the beach, take a nap, or enjoy our many activities:

paddle boarding
kayaking
tide pools
fishing
playing at the playground
hiking
art and crafts

gaga ball
…. And SO much MORE
And yes, we have a large inventory of life jackets for young kids, big kids, and adults!

Our evening offerings are different each night:

Rod and Heather Fletcher are excited to serve as our Family Camp hosts. Rod is the Executive Director of Campus by the Sea and has a lifelong history with CBS Family Camp. Family Camp was foundational in Rod and Heather’s marriage and parenting journey as they intentionally raised three boys to follow Jesus.
Rod and Heather want to encourage Christian families and look forward to engaging with you and connecting you with other families.
ACCOMODATIONS
Each family is assigned a cabin or tent, that provides a simple yet comfortable camping experience. There is no electricity or plumbing in the cabins; however, they are centrally located with easy access to the bath pavilion (equipped with hot showers, flush toilets, and electrical outlets), dining room, meeting spaces, and the beach. Families with young kids: No car seats needed! Morning childcare, pack-n-plays in cabins, high-chairs on dining decks, infant life jackets, and an engaging play yard with an ocean view.
Families with school-aged kids: Kids participate in age-specific bible lessons and group games led by playful college-age kids.
Families with teens: Relational discussions centered around living out faith and navigating today’s culture, and teen-specific fun!
Single-parents: Participate with other families and feel supported as a mom/dad in a larger family environment.
Grandparents: Create lasting memories while exposing your grandchildren to the truth of the gospel and encouraging their faith..
Multi-generational families: A special environment to invest in your relationships.
